COMPASS reviews your reading, math and writing skills. COMPASS is required of all new students. Exceptions are students with prior college experience and/or guest students. Guest students are not seeking a degree or certificate from NSCC; they are only taking a course or two at NSCC.
Frequently asked questions.
What should I do before the assessment?
Complete an application for admission and pay the $20 application fee.
What should I bring?
Bring a calculator with you. Graphic/scientific calculators are not permitted.
How long does it take?
COMPASS is not timed. Plan on about one and half hours to complete the assessment.
When will I get my results?
Results print out immediately upon completion of the assessment.

Where do I go for the assessment?
Room A103. This is a computer lab on the first floor of Building A. Easiest access is from the East entrance to Building A.
